Whippany NJ Maps – Discover the Suburbs of Morris County

When you’re trying to figure out the best way to navigate a new city or neighborhood, it helps to have a good map. With the right kind of online maps, you can get the information you need, and even find directions to specific locations. This is especially true in a place like Whippany NJ, where the maps can make all the difference.

The township of Whippany is home to a large population of suburban residents. It’s a town that is part of Morris County, but it also has its own distinctive character. Its history is rooted in the area’s natural resources, including dense forests of timber, rich soil, veins of iron ore and the power of the Whippany River. Its present commercial and industrial base is a tribute to these natural resources, which continue to attract business and industry today.

One of the best ways to experience this unique place is by taking a walk along the borough’s main street, Route 10. The road feels comparable to bustling parts of Parsippany and it’s dotted with retail conveniences that would rival those in Manhattan.

But when you walk off the beaten path, you can see a different side of this suburban oasis. For example, if you take the Patriot’s Path across the township to Corey Lane, you can see the pristine Whippany River. The water flows in a small stream, maybe a foot wide, over a culvert and under the road.

This is the only spot on the entire Paterson-Cedar Knolls Rail Trail, a public park that runs through both towns. It’s a place for walking, biking and horseback riding, and the river looks as pristine as any in the state. The path, which is maintained by the Morris County Parks Commission, connects with trails in Mendham, Morristown and Parsippany and ultimately leads into the Rockaway River.

As you walk along the path, you can see the shady banks of the river and the quiet residential neighborhoods that are nestled in its shadow. You’ll see people strolling with their dogs, taking in the scenery and enjoying the simple pleasures of life in this suburbia.

This is a family-friendly community with excellent schools and a great location. It’s about 30 miles from NYC and just a few minutes from the convenience culture of Morristown. The train station is within a few miles and offers easy access to Midtown Direct service to NYC. The nearby Bee Meadow community swimming pool is a nice bonus and several exclusive private elementary and Prep/Boarding and Catholic high schools are within a few miles as well. The low Whippany property taxes are another plus. There are also many convenient shopping and entertainment opportunities in the area.
