Whippany Actuation Systems designs and manufactures electromechanical actuation components, systems and subsystems for commercial and military aerospace applications. The Company offers flight control, landing gear and utility actuation systems. Whippany Actuation Systems serves clients in the United States.
As demand for specialized aerospace parts grew, New Jersey based manufacturer Whippany Actuation Systems needed to increase production quickly but didn’t want to sink a big capital investment into another CNC machine, or outsource. Instead, they chose to add a Universal Robots’-based collaborative robot and started experimenting with the potential of automating their work.
This system is made up of three MPS Microsystems fin actuators that independently position an aerodynamic fin for highly precise dynamic maneuvers. To meet the demanding specifications of this application, the actuators had to be lightweight – less than 100 g – and compact in size.
Whippany Actuation Systems is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity and compliance with all federal, state, and local laws that prohibit employment discrimination on the basis of sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and related conditions), race, national origin or ancestry, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, physical or mental disability, medical condition, marital status, veteran or military status, and other non-merit-based factors. The Company also maintains a policy of non-retaliation against employees who, in good faith, complain of or oppose unlawful discrimination.
